Q & A

Why did you choose your career path?

I chose this career path because I’ve always been drawn to problems that sit at the intersection of technology, scale, and real human impact.

Early on, what excited me was not just building software for the sake of building it, but creating systems that solve meaningful problems for customers and businesses. I found that engineering gave me a very direct way to do that. You can take something ambiguous, break it down, align people around a solution, and turn it into a product or platform that changes how people work, make decisions, or interact with a company.

Over time, I realized I was especially energized by complex, high-scale environments, where the challenge is not only to build something innovative, but to make it reliable, secure, and usable in the real world. That is what pulled me toward large-scale product and platform engineering.

The other reason I chose this path is that it combines two things I really enjoy: deep technical problem-solving and leadership. I like understanding architecture, systems, and execution details, but I also love building teams, setting direction, and helping organizations deliver more than they thought possible. Engineering leadership lets me do both. I get to connect business strategy to technical execution, and that’s where I do my best work.

Who was your biggest influence and why?

My biggest influence has been my dad. He shaped the way I think, the way I work, and the way I make decisions.

My dad has been a constant influence throughout my life, and many of the values I carry into my work and leadership came from him. He taught me the value of hard work, planning, persistence, and most importantly, integrity.

He always told my siblings and me to aim higher. That shaped me early. It made me ambitious, goal-oriented, and willing to put in the effort needed to achieve what I want. I learned to set high standards for myself and give my best, rather than waiting for opportunities to come to me.

What made his influence even more powerful is that he also taught us when to stop, rethink, and change direction. He helped me understand that pivoting is not giving up. It is part of growth, and often part of success. I have carried that lesson with me in both life and career.

What is your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement is the growth I have had as a leader, not only in the scale of the work I have led, but in the kind of impact I have been able to create through people, teams, and execution.

Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to lead important work across fintech, cloud, and AI. I am proud of the products, platforms, and outcomes, but what matters most to me is that I have been able to help build strong teams, guide organizations through complexity, and turn ambitious goals into real results.

What I value most is not a single milestone. It is the ability to consistently step into difficult, high-stakes spaces, bring clarity where there is ambiguity, and help move work forward in a way that is thoughtful, reliable, and lasting. That has shaped me not just as an engineer, but as a leader.

I also see my greatest achievement in the trust I have earned over time – trust to lead through change, to make hard decisions, to raise the bar, and to help teams deliver meaningful work. For me, achievement is not only about what gets built. It is about the environment you create, the people you grow, and the standards you leave behind.
